Report from the Lab: Platform Boots!

Don’t think of chunky stompers with 5-inch heels; think of my ongoing series on Medium called techBros Must Die! — of which the last episode can be read here.
As a new Youtuber, I quickly realized I needed to use all existing and newer social platforms to do what I wanted with the videos I created for my A/B testing and whatnot. My favorite social place for years has been LinkedIn, where I’ve posted writings on tech and project management for almost two decades (shortly after they opened for business in 2003). But a few days ago, I was booted!
Yes, after all those years and all those dollars (about USD 5,670.99 worth of moola), I got tossed like an old pair of platform boots. Never a client, customer, or employee given back to me, nothing but a kick in the teeth for all that effort and resources that I spent on them.
Here is the explainer video:
In addition to that kick in the face, one that leaves me with no employment prospects in this techBro world (I gather), I’ve been banned on the subreddits of Reddit /COOKING and /NEPAL for the content that I produce: a cooking show w/Dog (that began shitty & silly but is now very serious), and commentary on the country where I live (in the form of mild rants like this one).

And just one last smack in the face (for now): YouTube kicked me out of the advertising side of Google, where you can spread your stuff and make impressions (re: money). That happened within 5 minutes of going live with my first video and remains unresolved today despite many “forms filed for an appeal.” Like with LinkedIn, “Who ya gonna call?” …not Ghostbusters, not anyone; as I mentioned in my last post here, we are in Lineland while the techBros are in another dimension on top of us (this metaphor from the book Flatland), and we can’t contact them; they can only get you (with all kinds of bad news as a content provider).
So there you have it. Many kicks in the teeth and head, and it’s only one and one-half months into this crazy experiment, this adventure where I suffer firsthand the abuse that so many do silently every day on these platforms. I hope that, at the end of this rabbit hole I’ve jumped into, these writings and reports, and finally, an advocacy campaign, will make a difference, maybe even save a life…
Yes, folks, because the above may not look serious, but to someone doing this as a new career, just starting, these types of boots and kicks, without recourse or appeal, can drive a person mad. It has, to a dear friend who is no longer with us, after she stuck a Glock in her cheek and pulled the trigger and was no longer a YouTuber, even though her work remained online until her parents got the techBros at Google to remove the channel.
To help keep me alive during this deep dive into techBroLand, please consider feeding me. Food is one of the most important parts of a happy and healthy life. That’s why I chose a cooking show for this experiment, but as mentioned here, there is a cost! (USD $1, 598.58 in under 45 days of operation). Thank you, from all of us here at Herojig Cartooning and Ballooning of Timi Nepal, where we allegedly produce art that is dangerous.
